The Defence STEM Undergraduate Sponsorship (DSUS) Scheme
The scheme offers a new opportunity for STEM Undergraduates interested in a future in the MOD Civil Service as a Technical Officer or Engineer.
--
Successful applicants will be sponsored through 3 years of university study, having their Tuition Fees paid for (where applicable) along with a £5,000 annual bursary and the opportunity to earn approximately 30–35 days paid placements or activity throughout the Academic year and holiday periods. Placements will offer the chance to understand the roles and responsibilities of the organisation they are joining and the function they deliver in the defence of the United Kingdom.
Once graduated the applicants will be guaranteed a position of employment within their sponsoring organisation as a Higher Executive Officer within the MOD Civil Service.
MOD Civil Servant agencies participating in the DSUS Scheme include, but are not limited to, the Defence Nuclear Organisation (DNO) (Bristol, Barrow-in-Furness, Faslane, Coulport, Plymouth and Rosyth), Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) (as per DNO), Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) (Reading) and Navy Command Head Quarters (Portsmouth), Defence Science and Technical Laboratory (DSTL) (Salisbury) and DST (London), Defence Digital (DD) (Corsham), Defence Artificial Intelligence Cell (DAIC) (Corsham), Defence Cyber Academy (DCA) (Swindon) and Chief Defence Logistics Support (CDLS) (Bristol).
Opportunities for employment will include all elements of STEM subjects and the selection criteria will be detailed on the relevant CS Jobs Advert page when the applications are live.
