Soldiers supplying Police Officers on the beat
A team of Military Logistics Support experts have been supporting the Police to ensure that Personal Protective Equipment reaches their officers on the beat.
With police remaining on the frontline each and every day, it is vital that they receive the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) they need.
The Central supply chain, led by UK Police and supported by 4th Regiment Royal Logistics Corps, will ensure that police officers and staff receive the very best protection needed for frontline roles.
Forces across the UK are now capturing their PPE requirements and feeding them directly into the new National Police Central Logistics Hub in Oxfordshire.
The new Hub, has recently launched and is already taking orders. Deliveries will go to forces as far and wide as the West Midlands, Cumbria and Central London.
The aim of this central distribution hub is to bolster the existing police team at a time of unprecedented demand, to enable a longer-term commercial solution to mature.

The delivery of this PPE is essential to Police Officers as it helps reduce the risks which are faced while working in public-facing roles.
In addition to meeting the PPE needs of frontline police, the Military specialists are assisting with mentoring and planning advice on forecasting, national stock control, inventory management and scaling, as well as national distribution management.
