Red arrows resume training

The Red Arrows may be seen in the skies from the 15 April, enabling pilots to keep their training up to date.

Royal Air Force pilots are amongst the best in the world and must train regularly to remain at this level of expertise.

For legal flying requirements, all operational aircrew cannot go more than 31 days without flying before losing their ‘currency’ to fly any future operational sorties. A Red Arrow pilot is no different.

As of today, single aircraft from the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (RAFAT) based in Lincolnshire have begun this training process for legal and safety reasons. So if you see the distinctive Hawk T1 of the Red Arrows flying this is the reason why.

When the time is right, the Red Arrows will return to the skies and once again take their place as the world’s greatest flying display team.
