In Pictures: What does anti-ambush training look like?

British soldiers deployed to Estonia have been busy in the last few months, take a look at what they’ve been up to

Soldiers from the British Army have been conducting anti-ambush drills whilst deployed to Estonia.

The soldiers have been practising their core skills against potential ambushes, which involved vehicle recovery from breakdown or damage. Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and small arms fire were being used as a training scenario to recover vehicles under ‘fire’.

The soldiers in Estonia are part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic States and Poland demonstrating the strength of the transatlantic bond.

Operation CABRIT is the codename given to the UK deployment to Estonia and Poland. British troops are leading a multinational battlegroup as part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence (EFP) in Estonia and a British Sqaudron is part of the US led battlegroup in Poland.
