UK Armed Forces are continuing to assist with the evacuation of British nationals and Afghan civilians from Kabul following the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan

UK Armed Forces personnel continue to work around the clock with allies in Kabul, Afghanistan to help evacuate Afghan civilians and British nationals from the country.

So far, thousands of people have been taken out of Afghanistan on Operation PITTING, the name for the military support to the evacuation of British nationals and former staff eligible for relocation under the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP).

Alongside the evacuation, Armed Forces personnel continue to provide humanitarian support to those wanting to leave the country, providing food, water, baby milk, nappies and sanitary packs to those in need.

More than 1,000 UK personnel are deployed to Kabul to assist with the evacuation process. Working with the US and other allies, the UK Armed Forces have been able to ensure that civilians are able to get to safety.

The Royal Air Force is using a range of air transport to transit Afghan civilians and British nationals outside of Afghanistan back to the UK, including C-17, A400M and C-130 aircraft.
