On Saturday 17 April at 2:40pm, the coffin will emerge from the State Entrance of Windsor Castle into the Quadrangle, followed by the members of the Royal Family who will be walking in the procession. All those in the Quadrangle will give the coffin a Royal Salute before the coffin is placed onto the Land Rover.

The Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army and Royal Air Force will all have a part to play in the funeral. HRH The Duke of Edinburgh served in the Royal Navy until 1952 where he became consort to Her Majesty The Queen. Throughout his life, he maintained a close relationship with the Armed Forces, and continues to inspire personnel across the world.

Around 730 Armed Forces personnel will provide ceremonial support to the funeral arrangements, with the proceedings and the music played by massed bands from the three. Dress rehearsals for the funeral took place down on Pirbright on 14 April.
