In Pictures: Introducing the RAF’s new submarine hunter 🛫

The RAF have just taken delivery of its first P-8A Poseidon aircraft in America. This submarine-hunting Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) is an invaluable asset for the UK and NATO.

Military officials are greeted on arrival

In an ever-changing world, the UK is seeking new and innovative ways to prevent conflict and protect its naval assets. These aircraft will provide the RAF with enhanced tracking of hostile maritime targets, the ability protect the British continuous at-sea nuclear deterrent and play a central role in NATO missions across the North Atlantic to keep the UK and its allies safe.

The military aircraft are produced by Boeing, originally modified from a 737–800 ERX and carries state-of-the-art, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare sensors.
