France and the UK are committed to training their Armed Forces together to enable a credible and effective Combined Joint Expeditionary Force (CJEF).

Ex GAULISH is a Combined Joint Expeditionary Force (CJEF) exercise with British and French soldiers.

Alpha (Grenadier) Company Group, 4 SCOTS took part in bilateral training with their French partners in the urban environment to enhance their abilities to work together and build on their operational knowledge.

The deployment incorporated elements from the wider army including interpreters.

Exercise GAULISH has demonstrated our ability to deploy overseas and work with our CJEF partners, France. The ability to work with allies is key to the future security of both the UK and France.

Exercise GAULISH aims to complete the multi-national training plan as directed by the Land Warfare Centre (LWC).
The Urban Zone Combat Training Centre (CENZUB) is a purpose-built facility for training the French armed forces in urban warfare skills.
Alpha (Grenadier) Company Group, 4 SCOTS deployed to CENZUB to conduct training with 8 Régiment de Parachutistes d’Infanterie de Marine (8 RPIMa).
The CJEF highlights the close military cooperation that has been enabled by the Lancaster House Treaties, which were signed on the 2nd of November 2010.
The ability to be interoperable with allies is key to the future security of both the UK and France.
