Afghanistan — 5,000th cadet trained🇦🇫
Dubbed ‘Sandhurst in the Sand’, the UK Armed Forces deployed in Afghanistan provides training and advisory roles within the Afghan National Army Officers’ Academy (ANAOA) and Infantry Branch School, among other Afghan institutions.
This training is integral to producing the country’s next military leaders and sees female and male officer cadets training side by side together.
This year marks the 5,000th cadet to pass-through ‘Sandhurst in the Sand’, which is an incredible testament to the impact our men and women are having in Afghanistan.
“ANAOA delivers fantastic combat leaders. They are the future and will grow and become increasingly influential in time as they promote through the Afghan National Army.”
— Brigadier Jonathan Timmis, Cheif Mentor, ANAOA
