Helping the people of Beirut ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง

Following the devastating explosion in Lebanonโ€™s capital city, HMS Enterprise along with other British military experts deployed to support the people of Beirut.

Military experts worked with the Lebanese Armed Forces to assess the damage to the port, helping to coordinate delivery of medical equipment and air transport.

HMS Enterprise surveyed the seafloor to assess the damage, along with her crew deploying on the ground to set up temporary field kitchens and tents. The RAF was also on hand to deliver supplies, including cold storage for storing medical supplies.

Afghanistan โ€” 5,000th cadet trained๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ซ

Dubbed โ€˜Sandhurst in the Sandโ€™, the UK Armed Forces deployed in Afghanistan provides training and advisory roles within the Afghan National Army Officersโ€™ Academy (ANAOA) and Infantry Branch School, among other Afghan institutions.

This training is integral to producing the countryโ€™s next military leaders and sees female and male officer cadets training side by side together.

This year marks the 5,000th cadet to pass-through โ€˜Sandhurst in the Sandโ€™, which is an incredible testament to the impact our men and women are having in Afghanistan.

โ€œANAOA delivers fantastic combat leaders. They are the future and will grow and become increasingly influential in time as they promote through the Afghan National Army.โ€

North Sea ๐ŸŒŠ

The Royal Air Force has once again intercepted Russian activity but is a first for the RAFโ€™s new P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft.

The sub-hunting aircraft completed its first operational mission, shadowing a Russian warship in the North Sea near UK waters.

As the Poseidon aircraft kept watch over the Russian vessel, Vasily Bykov, it was supported by Typhoon Fighter jets and the Voyager refuelling aircraft.

Cleaning up beaches

Curaรงao ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ผ

During a routine deployment to the Caribbean, the crew of RFA Argus began a cleanup operation on the beaches in Curaรงao to clear waste strewn across Turtle habitats.

They removed as much waste as possible, especially any large nets or items that can trap turtles. With the help of the Curaรงao Turtle Sanctuary, the team were also shown how to identify and sort plastic waste that can be recycled.
