The Armed Forces Continuous Attitudes Survey for 2017 (AFCAS17) is open for completion, and we want to hear your views before the survey closes at 23:00 on Monday 13 February 2017.

If you are one of the 27,000+ members of regular UK Service personnel who have been selected to take part, read on to find out how you can have your say on Service life today.

AFCAS - What is it?

AFCAS is an annual Service personnel survey which is very important to Defence. It is one of the main ways that the Services learn about your experiences and views as Service personnel, as well as the things that concern you or which you’d like to see changed or improved.

Put simply, the more Service personnel respond, the better the Services will understand your situation and be able to consider how they can best support you in your role.

AFCAS - Why complete it?

AFCAS feedback allows all 3 Service chiefs and MOD’s Chief of Defence People Lieutenant General Richard Nugee to understand your concerns so that Defence can work out how to support you better.

Lt Gen Nugee said:

“As Chief of Defence People, I believe that you, our people, are at the heart of Defence. Knowing and understanding how you feel about your experience in the Armed Forces allows me to understand how I can better support you.

“If you have been selected to participate in AFCAS, please do take advantage of this opportunity to share your views with me - it is your feedback that helps me to identify how and when to take action to improve the experience of all you who serve. I can assure you that the results of AFCAS will be addressed at the highest levels in each Service and across Defence.”

AFCAS - How to complete it?

To complete the survey you will need to enter a ‘token.’ Your token is your Service number and it is case sensitive - it should be entered as it is shown on JPA. Only the Service numbers of those personnel who have been selected to complete the survey will be accepted.
