Have you wondered what it’s like to be on the other side of the car window?
The Allied Rapid Reaction Corps is ready to take on the coronavirus in Wales.
Each morning, the team gather the information and equipment needed for the day, receive a list of destinations around the Powys area in central Wales, and leave to set up Mobile Testing Units.

Members of the public can come to be tested for coronavirus without needing to leave the car.
As well as the units moving around, members of the team change roles.
Private Reed, from Swansea, Wales, says:
We work as a team and could not accomplish anything otherwise, so my role varies on a day to day basis.
One day, Private Charity May Reed is driving the vehicle with the tests inside, on another, she’s leading a team teaching others how to perform the tests.
The Allied Rapid Reaction Corps is full of people from the Royal Logistics Corps, the Gurkhas, the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Private Davies, from Aberdare, South Wales, says:
It’s a good feeling, especially to be in my home country. I’d rather be out doing my part than back in camp.
Rifleman Suraj Dhimal, from Nepal, says:
Being mobile means we can operate anywhere, reaching people who can’t reach their nearest hospital or testing centre. It’s an honour for me to serve this country and have the opportunity to do so in this way.
Mobile Testing Units were an idea that came from the military to help meet government testing, and continue to deliver tests around the United Kingdom.
